Palma Beach is strengthening its commitment to sustainable sports tourism by promoting events such as running, paddle surfing, and swimming competitions.

These competitions aim to revitalize the area, attract high-quality sports tourism, and encourage both residents and visitors to participate in healthy and sustainable activities.
Mika Ferrer, president of Palma Beach, emphasized the importance of these initiatives, stating that “these events not only promote healthy and active lifestyles, but also help solidify Playa de Palma’s image as an attractive destination for active, sustainable, and high-quality tourism.”
He added that the goal is “to transform the area and boost the local economy through events that enhance the tourist experience and benefit all residents.” Ferrer concluded, “At Palma Beach, we are clearly committed to a tourism model that values quality over quantity, and these sports events are key to showcasing the enormous potential Playa de Palma offers as a space for community, sustainability, and a healthy lifestyle.”
The first event will be the Palma Beach SUP Crossing ‘Paddle Surf’, taking place on Sunday, June 22nd at 9:00 AM. This family-friendly and recreational paddleboarding journey invites participants to enjoy a scenic route from Club Nàutic s’Arenal to Club Marítimo de Sant Antoni de la Playa, highlighting the beauty of Playa de Palma’s coastline.
In August, on Sunday 10th at 9:00 AM, the first edition of the ‘Palma Beach Swim Crossing’ will be held, a thrilling 1,200-meter open water swimming race in a stunning natural setting.
This event is designed for swimmers of all levels and includes categories for various age groups, fostering a competitive yet friendly environment that promotes inclusion.
Finally, on October 12 starting at 10:00 a.m., the much-anticipated fifth edition of the Palma Beach Running Course will take place. For the first time, the event will include a half marathon (21K), in addition to the traditional 10K race and a kids' race.
It's also worth noting that the organizers will donate €1 from each child's registration in the kids' race to the Palma Aquarium Foundation, allowing the youngest participants to sponsor sea turtles.
