From November 13th to 15th, Palma will host the MARE25 “El mar nos mueve” Sessions, a space of encounter, inspiration and action for the conservation of the Balearic sea.

On Thrusday, November 13th, the Ocean Film Festival World Tour (oceanfilmfestival.es) arrives to Mallorca in a special edition, set inside the MARE Sessions, which combine cinema, photography, reflection and encounter, and that forms part of the great international oceans, adventure and extreme sport festival, born twelve years ago in Australia and that, since then, goes around the world as part of its World Tour.
A gathering dedicated to the sea with the projection of the winning reels of the 1st Editin of MARE Sea Reel (mareseareel.org) and the Official Section of the Ocean Film Festival World Tour. An almost two-hour experience of cinema, adventure and environmental awareness, that celebrates the beauty of the ocean and the urgency of its conservation.
On Friday, November 14th, the MARE25 Gala Awards will take place, which will have the participation of the finalists of the photography and reels contests, the exposition of winning pictures and the projection of awarded videos.
The Audiovisual Contest for the conservation of the Balearic sea,MARE25 will distribute in its 6th edition €10.000 in prizes. The awarded images have been selected between the 1.321 photographies presented by the photographers of 17 different nationalities. And the Jury that has formed part of this edition has been forme by Ana Palacios, Merche Llobera and Emma Cebrián.
The 65% of the presented images has been given to MARE with conservation means, marking a new record and reinforcing the true purpose of the contest: using photography as a tool to inspire awareness and spread knowledge about the Balearic sea trhough different activities that are organized throughout the year.

Saturday, November 15th, will be a morning of talks dedicated to photography and marine disclosure, with experts such as Xavier Mas, marine biologist and photographer, who will share his experiene in submarine macrophotography and Ana Palacios, visual journalist and documentalist specialized in social impact projects, collaborator with international media and coach of the program Canon Europe. Ana Palacios's session surrounds how photography can be cultivated as a creative garden, where different projects are planted and developed, from reports to documentaries combining diveristy, sustainability and creativity to achieve a coherent, accesible and managable work.
