With 34 registered boats from seven countries, the category will gather in the Bay of Palma a highly leveled fleet, featuring two Spanish teams that have already made it to the podium in this event: Fala Pouco and Wanderlust.
Fala Pouco, owned by Andrés Manresa and skippered by José Ballester, was crowned champion of ORC 3 class in last year’s edition. The boat, representing Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja, posted strong partial results in 2024, earning the title with confidence. Manresa’s team heads into this edition backed by recent victories at the Trofeo SM La Reina and the TabarcaVela in Alicante.
Meanwhile, Wanderlust, owned by Josep Pons Faner (CN Ciutadella/RCN Palma), also made the podium at the last Copa del Rey MAPFRE, finishing third in ORC 3. Pons' team returns to Palma aiming to improve that result and further solidify their status among the fleet’s elite.
Another standout is Nautic Café del Mar, representing Club Náutico de Sant Antoni, which has performed well in the Mediterranean Sailing Circuit, finishing third overall. Also noteworthy are two of the nine Italia Yachts entries this year: Giulia by Rudolf Vrestal and Sarchiapone Fuoriserie by Gianluigi Dubbini.
A major name in the fleet is the German Earlybird, skippered by Hendrik Brandis, a regular on the international ClubSwan 50 circuit and 2024 class winner. This time, Brandis' crew will compete aboard a Cape 31 for the Uber ORC C title.
Among the local contenders is Meerblick, owned by Otto Pohlmann, winner of the Sandberg PalmaVela in May.
Institutional presence will also be significant with two Spanish Navy teams: Regulus I, skippered by Francisco Javier Pavón Jarava (Naval Regatta Commission of Cartagena), and Regulus VII, helmed by Carlos Supervielle Berges (Naval Regatta Commission of Cádiz). Both teams aim to secure a place among the top in this highly contested class.
The Uber ORC C class will sail a maximum of eight races between Monday, July 29, and Friday, August 2. As with other ORC categories, the program includes two coastal races, depending on weather conditions. Teams will compete not only for the title of 43rd Copa del Rey MAPFRE champion but also for the European ORC Championship title, as this year's edition doubles as the continental event.
With teams from Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and Spain, Uber ORC C will be one of the most international classes of the regatta.
