With a total budget of €815.000, the grant program will allow federations to upgrade their sports equipment, providing significant support to enhance the quality of competitions.
The call, published today, July 24th, in the BOIB (Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands), opens the application period from Friday, July 25th through August 22nd. Eligible applicants are sports federations that promote regular sports participation among school-aged children within the federated sports framework.
The Island Sports Department of Mallorca’s Council aims to support expenses related to investments in sports and technological equipment: goals, baskets, tatamis, kayaks, sails, boat helmets, diving gear, safety equipment (such as harnesses), etc. The grant also covers electronic systems and devices that help improve competitive events or measure athletic performance, such as timers, precision cameras, smart vests, and more.
Second Vice President and Minister of Environment, Rural Affairs, and Sports, Pedro Bestard, commented: “The Consell is responding with over €800,000, an important figure, to a need expressed directly by the federations, a group dedicated to sports training and instilling values.”
“This initiative completes a cycle of support from the Consell for grassroots federated sports, which includes: €12 million for renovations of municipal sports facilities used by federations, over €1 million in grants for competition development, and now this funding to improve equipment, which will lead to greater efficiency,” Bestard added.
