The Mallorcan company Nautipaints Group, with over 50 years of history in the nautical industry, continues its growth from the Balearics by launching Nauticover, a new division specialized on temporary structures such as protection hoardings and decks for big vessels with which the company can guarantee safe, efficient and high-quality working spaces during the the refit and management works.

With this new division, the Mallorcan company amplifies their service offer in the superyacht refit area, adding their own capacities in temporary structures to the usual activity in painting, technical treatments and specialized supply.

“The hoardings and the contentions are critical stages that often escape our control. With Nauticover we gain in quality, security and scheduling, without depending on external providers”, Toni Salom, CEO of Nautipaints Group explains.

“Our goal is to continue developing our activity from the island, supporting the growth of the nautical sector in Mallorca and its international projection,” says Toni Salom.

Nauticover begins its operations based in Palma and will also offer its services in Barcelona, Vilanova, and Valencia, providing solutions such as retractable enclosures, rigid roofs, and modular structures. All of this will be integrated with the group’s project management teams and coordinated through a single point of contact for the client.

The launch comes at a time of significant growth for the Balearic nautical industry, which generates more than 5,500 direct jobs, brings together over 880 companies, and reaches a turnover of €1.1 billion in the islands, according to the report ‘The Nautical Sector in the Balearic Islands’ prepared by Balearic Marine Cluster.

Among Nauticover’s main competitive advantages is its full integration with Nautipaints Group’s project management teams, allowing smooth planning without duplication. Each installation is customized to the yacht and the type of work to be performed, ensuring solutions tailored to the specific needs of each project.

Coordination with the group’s other internal divisions ensures that all phases, from painting to technical treatments, are carried out in a synchronized manner. In addition, Nauticover applies its own quality standards, backed by the experience and prestige of Nautipaints Group, and offers a single point of contact for the client, simplifying communication and speeding up decision-making.

With a workforce that reaches 250 professionals during peak season, Nautipaints Group is an active part of the international nautical ecosystem. Founded in the 1970s in Palma by Miguel Salom as a small naval supplies shop, the company has evolved into a globally projected group with four divisions:

  • Nautipaints – Superyacht painting, with projects in more than 13 European cities.

  • Nautiunderwater – Technical treatments on hulls and tanks.

  • Nautichandler – Technical supply with five physical stores and international e-commerce.

  • Nauticover – New division specializing in temporary structures.

Nautipaints Group specializes in large yacht refurbishment projects, technical treatments on hulls and tanks, and complex interventions requiring high technical standards, often sensitive to weather conditions or contamination. The company stands out for its ability to execute projects within tight deadlines, with no room for delays.

Today, the company remains family-owned and is preparing for generational succession with Maena and Joan Salom, the third generation already involved in the management of the group.
