'Mi rincón favorito de Magaluf', the contest that is looking for the best pictures of the locality

Calvià’s Council presents the contest «Mi rincón favorito de Magaluf», which encourages the citizenship to post their photographs of the locality on the social network Instagram.

Calvià’s Council presents «Mi rincón favorito de Magaluf», a contest on the social network Instagram which encourages the population to post pictures of the area to show and discover the best of the setting: their favorite landscape, a bucolic sunset, a park full of activity, a lesser known spot, their favorite food of the traditional gastronomy or the most representative square in full bustle, within other ideas. The contest will have its own character, but the works that go into the contest will compete alongside the photographs of the whole country, for the national prizes of  «Mi rincón favorito», which aim to recognize the best pictures of the whole Spanish geography.

The objective of this call is the incentive of the creative capacity in photography as well as generating rich content on social media. In addition, the contest fulfills an objective of touristic promotion, letting the users themselves show the aspects they consider more relevant of the locality, and taking advantage of the virality of the communication through social media.

To take part in this contest it will be enough with taking a snapshot with a mobile phone or any other device, posting it on Instagram with the contest’s hashtags (#mirinconfavorito and #mirinconfavoritodemagaluf) and filling in, as many times as photos are presented, the following form (link to the form), where the bases can also be consulted. The description’s text of the picture will also be a part of the piece and it can be taken into account when choosing the winners. The format and the extension of said text is free and it allows the inclusion of emoticons. Everyone is allowed to participate, no matter their age or place or birthplace. The only requirement is that the presented pieces must be done in the locality or it must reference it.

The contest will have two prizes: a first one equipped with 200 euros and a second one equipped with a 100 euros. The first prize winning piece will be printed in various promotional materials (postals, stickers and posters) and it will be recognized as the contest’s winning piece.

The inscription term for the contest «Mi rincón favorito de Magaluf» will be open from June 1st to 29th included. The local prizes will be announced on June 7th and the national winners will be published on September 27th, matching with the World’s Tourism Day.

The initiative «Mi rincón favorito» makes 5 years of journey in 2025 on a national level. Between its first three editions 70 local contests were held and 8.000  pictures were presented.
