Menorcan sailors Triay and Sánchez Barreto take bronze at the Spanish Snipe Cup

The sailors from the Club Marítimo de Mahón made a comeback on the final day in Torrevieja, also securing silver in the Master category, where Damián Borrás and Javier Magro finished third.

The Snipe fleet of Club Marítimo de Mahón achieved another national success last weekend, with Jordi Triay and Cristian Sánchez Barreto finishing third overall at the Spanish Cup held in Torrevieja. This result also earned them the silver medal in the Master category, where Borrás and Magro claimed bronze.

The Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja hosted the Spanish Snipe Cup from October 9 to 12, featuring a total of six races. Club Marítimo de Mahón participated with nine boats, including María Correa and Teresa Sánchez-Casas, who finished third in the women’s category.

Triay and Sánchez Barreto ended with 19 points (3,5,5,3,3) compared to the 11 points of the winners. Borrás and Magro were fourth with 25 points (7,1,2,14,1), including two victories. Enric Noguera and Cristian Vidal finished sixth with 26 points (3,11,4,2,6), while Fernando Rita and Julia Rita were ninth with 34 points (9,10,7,1,7), earning silver in the mixed category.

Alex Tinoco and Harrison Moore finished 11th with 44 points, Marta Torner and Enrique Mir 17th with 56 points, Lolo Beltrán and Andrew Moore 26th with 86 points, and Totto Hartman with Cecilia Vasholmen 28th. Additionally, Maria Correa and Teresa Sánchez-Casas were 53rd with 97 points.
