The Forbes Nautik meeting at Forbes House brought together professionals, companies, and investors linked to the blue economy, creating a space for discussion on innovation, decarbonisation, and sustainability applied to the maritime sector.

Forbes Nautik, sponsored by Marina Port Valencia in this first gathering on the future of the nautical blue economy, highlighted the importance of developing marinas that work in harmony with the environment. The event focused on the present and future of the nautical sector and maritime sustainability, providing an opportunity to present the main lines of work of the project, especially those related to environmental initiatives.

During the event, Patrick Reynés, CEO of Marina Port Valencia, shared the marina’s vision and the environmental challenges facing the sector. In his speech, he stressed the importance of moving towards a model that integrates nautical activity, innovation, and respect for the marine environment.

“We are working to develop a project that combines nautical infrastructure and sustainability in a coherent and realistic way. We believe the sector has the opportunity to evolve towards more environmentally responsible models,” Reynés said.

One of the key points addressed was the development of new spaces designed under energy efficiency and sustainability criteria, achieving LEED Platinum certification for its buildings, which will make them the first in Valencia to reach this level. Reynés also explained that this approach aims to reduce the environmental impact of future facilities and promote more efficient resource use.

In addition to the architectural aspect, Marina Port Valencia presented its broader project and several ongoing environmental initiatives, including waste management, water treatment, and actions aimed at protecting marine biodiversity within the port environment.

With this participation, Marina Port Valencia continues advancing a project that seeks to explore new ways of connecting nautical activity with sustainability and marine conservation.
