Marina Norte has once again demonstrated its commitment to the environment and its firm determination to continue working towards a more sustainable future in the Mediterranean. Following the recent presentation of the Cátedra del Mar, the marina has taken another step forward in this strategy with the launch of NetBoat, an innovative electric vessel designed to keep the water surface clean.

The presentation, held this Friday, May 8, was attended by Mar Chao, president of the Port Authority of Valencia; Patrick Reynés, CEO of Marina Port Valencia; and Moisés Curañas Cardona, director of Ona Safe & Clean, the company responsible for the vessel’s technological development.

With technology specifically developed for water cleaning, NetBoat represents a new generation of service vessels. Its main distinguishing feature is its 100% electric propulsion, which allows it to operate without polluting emissions or acoustic impact, integrating naturally into the marina’s daily activity without disturbing the experience of sailors and visitors.

Designed in certified naval aluminium and with a catamaran-style configuration, the vessel offers great stability and manoeuvrability, even in confined spaces. Its multitasking system makes it possible to remove floating solid waste, vacuum up hydrocarbons and surface oils and, in addition, contribute to water oxygenation during its route, actively improving the port’s environmental quality.

During the presentation, Patrick Reynés highlighted that “NetBoat is not just a cleaning tool, but a statement of intent about the type of marina we want to build for the future.” He also stressed that this incorporation forms part of a broader roadmap based on innovation, decarbonisation and the active conservation of the Mediterranean.

For his part, Moisés Curañas explained the vessel’s technical capabilities. It is prepared to operate for up to 16 hours thanks to its electric system reinforced with integrated solar panels. The CatClean 75 model is 7.5 metres long, 2.5 metres wide and has a retention capacity of up to 2,000 litres of hydrocarbons, as well as an approximate cleaning capacity of 8.89 km² per hour.

The arrival of NetBoat consolidates Marina Norte’s commitment to sustainable innovation and positions Marina Port Valencia as a benchmark in the adoption of responsible technologies applied to the nautical sector. Beyond its operational function, this new vessel symbolises a different way of relating to the sea: more conscious, more efficient and aligned with the environmental challenges of the present and the future.
