The emblematic Veles e Vents building hosted a lunch-colloquium organised by Propeller Valencia, the association of logistics executives and entrepreneurs, under the title “Marina Port Valencia, a transformation project and benchmark for the city.”
The event featured Patrick Reynés, CEO of Marina Port Valencia and IPM-IMG Group, as guest speaker. He was welcomed by the association’s president, Alfredo Soler, and its Board of Directors. During the event, Reynés received an award in recognition of his career and leadership in the nautical sector. The award was presented by Isabel Albiach, manager of Yacht Moving, who dedicated some heartfelt words to the executive, highlighting his vision and commitment to operational excellence and port integration.
In his address to Valencia’s business and logistics community, Patrick Reynés underlined the importance of breaking down the historic invisible barrier between the port and the public, advocating for a destination capable of leading the blue economy across the Mediterranean. “We are facing a transformative project that looks towards the sea and is committed to attracting innovation and talent,” Reynés stated. He recalled that the infrastructure forms part of a network of prestigious international marinas alongside brands such as Marina Ibiza and STP Shipyard Palma, while maintaining a 100% Valencian essence.
The meeting also served to present the company’s roadmap, a comprehensive plan that projects the complete transformation of the space.
By 2026, Marina Port Valencia plans to open key areas, including the inner basin Marina City, with 371 berths for large yachts; the new security and access control centre in Marina Sur; the unification of areas for nautical sports; and the renewal of cutting-edge hospitality spaces in Marina Norte. The strategic plan will continue in 2028 with the opening of a 60,000 m² open shipyard on land, offering business opportunities for all Valencia-based industrial operators. Designed to support large yachts, the transformation is expected to be completed in 2029-2030.
Finally, the environmental pillar was a major focus of the presentation. Highlights included the recent acquisition of Netboat, a 100% electric, zero-emissions cleaning vessel, and the consolidation of the Cátedra del Mar together with the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the University of Alicante for environmental monitoring and the preservation of native biodiversity. With investments in highly energy-efficient infrastructure, including LEED Platinum certification, Marina Port Valencia reaffirms its commitment to providing the city with a space where quality employment, high-end nautical tourism and public enjoyment can coexist in harmony.
