The concession of the Blue Wake™ badge acknowledges the implementation of the Bio-box system in Marina Ibiza, a new technology that uses natural microorganisms to degrade present hydrocarbons in the water without generating environmental impact. Through a controlled drop system, the bacteria are liberated at sea to act directly over polluting substances, improving water’s equality actively.
Marina Ibiza was the first marina in Spain to adopt this solution, positioning itself as a reference in the protection of marine environments.
As an official participant of the Blue Wake™ program of the Mónaco Yacht Show, Marina Ibiza counts with a major visibility in the event, including highlighted presence in the interactive map of the MYS and the possibility of being selected for the Blue Wake Awards, which award the most relevant actions in sustainability inside the mark of yachting.
“We are very proud of receiving the Blue Wake™ badge and of being able to show once again our commitment with the environment’s care,” declares Daniel Mari, Marina Ibiza’s manager. “This acknowledgement in an international event as important as the Mónaco Yacht Show encourages us to keep innovating, growing and taking care of our waters and the environment we value so much.”
“But this is not the only measure we apply. We are proud of being one of the most environmental marines of the Mediterranean, with actions such as the encouragement of the electrical mobility, the creation of the first shelter for the ‘Sargantana Pitiusa’, the collaboration with marine fauna rescue entities such as Palma Aquarium, and educational, social and scientific projects with organizations such as Be Bleu and TrueWorld. In addition, we keep other sustainable initiatives such as the CICERO project.” comments Daniel Marí.
The Mónaco Yacht Show, which is celebrated annually in the Port Hercule of Mónaco since 1991, is the main World fair dedicated to luxury and innovation in yachts.
In its 2025 edition, Marina Ibiza will be present in the AL43 stand (Quai Albert Ier), showing its compromise with sustainability and environmental innovation.
With this distinction, Marina Ibiza does not only reinforce its leadership in the environment’s protection of the Pitiusas Islands, but also projects its good practices to an international level, consolidating itself as a pioneer marina in sustainability inside the nautical field.
