The championship, one of the most demanding events of the national calendar of this class, reunited 138 sailors between February 4th and 8th and was marked by very strong and variable meteorological conditions. The opening day of Thursday, February 5th, had to be completely suspended due to the orange warning determined in the area. The competition finally kicked off on Friday, with winds that went from less to more, reaching 20 knots streaks. On Saturday new sessions with 14 knots winds took place, while on Sunday, reserved for th golden group, offered a specially technical regattas area, with constant changing winds that almost reached the 30 knots.

In this context of maximum demand, Truyols signed off a solid and regular performance that allowed him to impose himself to the rest of the fleet and on the top of the national podium.

Further than the overall triumph, the Balearic representation was completed with a standing out performance in the set of different categories. In U16 male, Xuacu García, from Club Nàutic s’Arenal, achieved the bronze medal, while Carlos Rodríguez, from Real Club Náutico de Palma, almost got to the podium, getting a fourth position instead and Gaspar Crespí Amengual, from the same club, in eighth place.

In the U18 female category, Francisca Puig, from Real Club Náutico de Palma, was crowned victor, accompanied by Marina Garau i Sala, from Club Nàutic s’Arenal, which ended in fourth position, Sofía Leal, from the same club, seventh, and Mónica Osha, from Real Club Náutico de Palma, ninth.

On her behalf, in U-16 female, Marianna Orduña, from Club Nàutic Cala Gamba, signed off a well-deserved sixth place, completing this way a very positive balance for Balearic sailing.

In addition, the solid performance of the sailors that competed under the umbrella of the Balearic Sailing Federation allowed the Balearic Islands to be crowned champion by autonomies.

With these results, the Balearic Islands finished the ILCA 4 Spain's Championship with success, confirming the excellent base work of its clubs and consolidating as one of the great strengths of young sailing on a national level.
