Spanish sailor Enric Patiño has been classified in the fifth place of the World’s Juvenile iQFOiL Champs in the Under17 category, after seven competition journeys in waters of Brest, in the northeast tip of the French coast.

The Royal Spanish Sailing Federation has transferred to this World’s date of olympic windsurf to a team formed by 16 Under17 and Under19 athletes, accompanied by Joan Carles Cardona and José Luis Boronat as their coaches.

Enric Patiño, from Club Nàutic s’Arenal, has been the only Spaniard that has achieved classifying for the Medal Races, which were carried out yesterday, Thursday, July 31st, with light winds and gusties, affected by the meteorological instability. After 13 races, in which he has signed four firsts and three thirds as best partials, the Mallorcan accessed the finals of the Male Under17 fleet in sixth place. On the first assault, he achieved imposing himself in the fourths of the final, which gave him the opportunity to reach the semifinal. The third place of this race has left him out of the final, but has allowed him going up a place in the classification and ending with a well-deserved fifth place in a fleet of 128 tables in this category.

Coach Joan Carles Cardona has valued this good result: “We are very happy with this fifth. He has done a great job. There are details to improve, especially with the light winds, which have predominated in the championship, but to Eric there’s a year left in this category and we hope we can aspire to everything in 2026”.

Also in Under17 male, Enrique Parres (CN Santa Pola), has been highlighted, who has classified in the 12th position.

In Under19 female, the best Spaniards have been Martina Mantovani (RCN Valencia), who has been 14th, and Marta Juncal, from Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa, four steps behind. In male Under19 Antonio Medina (RC El Candado) has finished 16th, with Jorge Ruiz, from Club Nàutic s’Arenal, a place behind.
