Mallorca Cooper and Graneri, going for the European Canoeing Cup

The Spanish selection of canoeing has brilliantly started its participation in 2025 Europe’s Sprint and Paracanoe Championship, with a highlighted performance in the first test, celebrated in Račice’s canal. Of the ten Spanish ships that have accessed directly to the final, it is important to mention paddlers Marcus Cooper, from Reial Club Nàutic Portopetro, and Alex Graneri, from Real Club Náutico de Palma.

Pablo Graña achieved a solid victory in his series of C1 200 metres, qualifying directly for the Final A with a time of 39.226 seconds. On her behalf, Viktoriia Yarchevska entered the final of C1 200 metres female, signing a notable second place in her races (45.425).

In races by teams, the K4 500 metres female, formed by Estefanía Fernández, Bárbara Pardo, Lucía Val and Sara Ouzande, achieved a well deserved second position (1:33.002), ensuring their place in the fight for the medals. Next, the K4 male 500 metres, formed by Marcus Cooper, paddler from Reial Club Nàutic Portopetro, Alex Graneri, canoeist from Real Club Náutico de Palma, Carlos Arévalo and Adrián del Río, achieved a direct pass to the final after finishing third in a challenging series with a time of 1:19.932.

In K2 500 metres, the female ships formed by Estefanía Fernández and Begoña Lazkano finished fourth in their series, entering semifinals with a time of 1:43.972. In the male category, the pair formed by Carlos García and Enrique Adán also got into the semifinals after finishing in seventh place in their series (1:33.131), in a high level test with very adjusted times. In the K1 200 male metres, Galician Carlos Arévalo signed his direct classification after finishing third in his series, registering 34.659 seconds.

In Paracone, the Spanish team shone with strength:

  • Adrián Mosquera qualified in the Final A of VL3 200m with the second best time of his series (48.116 s).
  • Juan Valle won a series of KL3 200m with an excellent registry of 42.145 s.
  • In the female teste of KL3 200m, Araceli Menduina and María Jiménez also achieved their direct pass into the final.
