The Calvià Town Hall has scheduled a day full of activities and special offers. At 11 a.m., a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place. Following the walk along the promenade, an official institutional event will be held in Jacques Sasson Square.

A tribute will be paid to Catalina Feliu, the owner of the first house built in this Paseo Marítimo de Magaluf. A documentary summarizing almost a century of Magaluf’s history through her personal ‘Catalina i Magaluf’ wil be screened. Feliu will receive herself a commemorative sculpture, the Cor de Calvià. In addition, details will be shared about the upcoming ABTA congress, which will take place next October in Magaluf.  Visitors will also be able to enjoy an exhibition of historical photographs of Magaluf, and a seaside photo spot will be set up to capture the day under the slogan “Magaluf for All”.

The first ever Magaluf Gastrofira will launch on the same day, with around ten local establishments offering special discounts and promotions. For sports lovers, activities will also kick off at 9 a.m. on the beach, including volleyball, rugby, futvoley and children’s games. There will also be mini tennis, face painting workshops, the Biblioroulotte (mobile library of the local library network) and entertainment for the little ones.

Live music will fill the streets throughout the day with traditional xeremiers, ball de bot (folk dance), marching bands, DJs and various live performances. Calvià’s Talent Jove contest winner, Paula Presente, will take the stage, along with fellow awardees Lucía Servera, Dalu and Carol Hazas. The celebration will also feature live jazz and performances by the Stromboli Circus.

Calvià’s Town Hall has launched a media and social media campaign in order to encourage the residents to join the day’s festivities. Full details and schedule of said activities can be found on the official website.

The renovation works are supported by €4 million funding from the EU’s Next Generation Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Tourism and the Balearic Islands’ Regional Ministry of Tourism through the Illes Balears Sostenibles program. An additional €1 million has been provided thanks to the Sustainable Tourism Tax (ITS)

The event is part of the ‘Magaluf for All’ campaign, promoted by Calvià Town Hall and founded by The Sustainable Tourism Tax (ITS)
