Formentera’s Local Police has taken record and presented a complaint against a person that was carrying out illegal hawking in ses Illetes beach. The seller operated from a beach and offered alcoholic combinations directly to users of the beach, severely violating the municipal law and alimentary security.

YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!In the moment of the intervention, the agents requisitioned all the used material for the preparation and selling of drinks: a total of nine alcohol bottles (ron and vodka), thirteen ice bags, as well as glasses and one-use straws.
According to the current law, this infraction for hawking involves a financial sanction of 1.600 euros.
The Insular Council of Formentera reminds that hawking in beaches is totally forbidden, especially when it puts public health into risk, like the case of prepared drinks in no sanitary control conditions selling. In addition, they make a call to civilization and to visitors to not collaborate with this type of illegal activities, which also suppose a disloyal competence for the commerce that fulfill all the laws.
Local Police keeps their special surveillance device in beaches during summer, with daily presence in the Natural Park of ses Salines and “other sensitive spots of the coastline, with the objective of guaranteeing the law fulfillment and protection or public order and security of the swimmers”, highlights the Council in a statement.
