Sa Ràpita is counting down the days to once again host one of those special occasions when sailing, the sea, and club social life come together. This Saturday, June 6, the fourth edition of the Passion for the Sea Trophy Regatta will take place, an ORC cruising yacht competition returning to the Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita calendar with the ambition of continuing to grow and once again bringing together skippers, crews, members, guests, and sailing enthusiasts for a memorable day on the water.
DID YOU LIKE THIS CONTENT? WELL... YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!With only a few days remaining before the event, the organizing committee has already surpassed ten registered boats, confirming the strong interest the regatta has generated since its inaugural edition. Registration remains open, meaning vessels wishing to join this nautical celebration still have time to secure their place.
Participants will also benefit from a full week of complimentary mooring at Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, providing crews with ample time to prepare for the race, enjoy the event itself, and experience the club atmosphere in the days leading up to and following the competition.
The Passion for the Sea Trophy Regatta was created with a clear objective: to offer an accessible, visually appealing, and participatory competition where sporting performance coexists with social interaction, camaraderie among crews, and a shared passion for the sea. Four editions later, the event has established itself as one of the most distinctive fixtures on the social and sporting calendar of Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita.
The event is sponsored by Passion for the Sea, the nautical media platform of Nautimedia Comunicación Group, and will be held in the waters off Sa Ràpita. The coastal course has been designed to be enjoyed both from the sea and from shore. The regatta is open to cruising yachts holding a valid ORC certificate, with all crew members required to possess a 2026 federation sailing licence.
The day will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the opening of the race office. Registration will close at 9:30 a.m., and the start of the coastal race is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. From that moment, the spotlight will shift to the sea as the regatta once again brings the excitement of sailing to the coastline of Sa Ràpita.
As tradition dictates, however, the Passion for the Sea Regatta does not end at the finish line. Following the race, activities will continue ashore with a traditional fideuà for participants, guests, and visitors, followed by the prize-giving ceremony and a social gathering designed to bring together crews, club members and friends.
The social programme will also feature the support of Suau, Begudes Puig, and Helados Colonette, whose collaboration will help reinforce the friendly and festive atmosphere that has become part of the regatta’s identity. Attendees will enjoy drinks, refreshments, almond granita, and frozen pomada, adding flavour and freshness to a day designed for competition on the water and celebration on land.
One of the major highlights of this fourth edition will be the venue chosen for the post-race celebrations. The lunch and prize-giving ceremony will take place in the newly inaugurated social building of Club Nàutic Sa Ràpita, a space set to become the new hub of the club’s social life and the setting for one of its first major nautical and social events.
In addition to sporting awards for the top finishers, the prize-giving ceremony will retain the relaxed and friendly spirit that defines this regatta, featuring surprises for participants and special recognitions for the fleet. Because the Passion for the Sea Regatta is about competition, but it is also about community, friendship, club life, and celebration.
