The Balearic Ports Authority (APB) has presented, during the meeting of the Navigation and Port Council of La Savina, the current status of ongoing projects and the planned investment programme. This roadmap includes strategic actions aimed at improving the infrastructure of La Savina port, enhancing safety, modernising port services, and advancing the organisation of Formentera’s public port domain. The total investments planned for the 2025–2030 period amount to more than €9.4 million, most of which will focus on infrastructure and environmental improvements.

Among the most significant actions are the improvement of accessibility and the modernisation of the Ro-Ro ramps at the commercial docks, projects expected to be completed in 2026, which will facilitate vehicle and cargo loading and unloading operations. These works are complemented by the refurbishment of the second floor of the Harbour Master’s building, also scheduled for completion in 2026, which will enhance workspaces and user services. Progress is also being made on the renewal of fenders, an essential intervention to increase safety during berthing manoeuvres.

One of the strategic projects shaping the future of the port is the commitment to a unified marina, a model that consolidates the management of moorings, commercial premises, and parking spaces. This initiative will eliminate administrative and operational redundancies, improve management efficiency, ensure legal certainty, and provide La Savina with a single operator capable of undertaking structural investments and guaranteeing consistent quality and sustainability standards across all recreational nautical facilities. The tendering process is advancing, with a resolution expected in 2026.

Within its strategic planning, the APB continues to promote the Special Plan for La Savina port, for which the creation of a joint commission with the Consell de Formentera has been proposed to review and update its content.

The port’s environmental commitment is reinforced through the implementation of new ordinances aimed at improving air quality and the condition of port waters. Progress is also being made in decarbonising the Eivissa–La Savina maritime route, which now incorporates stricter environmental criteria in the new service tender.

La Savina port is also participating in the technological advancements across APB-managed ports. The rollout of Posidonia Operations V2, the technical-nautical services platform, along with the digitalisation of maritime signals and upgrades to electronic administration tools, is enhancing coordination, safety, and daily port efficiency. Future improvements to the CCTV system and cybersecurity projects further strengthen the port’s transition toward a smarter operating model.

During the current year, the APB has completed several key actions already improving the port’s functionality. Notable among them is the separation of the navigation channel to increase safety and ensure smoother maritime traffic at the port entrance and exit. Accessibility improvements have also renewed pedestrian routes and adapted spaces to provide safer, more comfortable mobility, especially for people with reduced mobility.

Regarding public port domain management, a decisive step has been taken this year with the formalisation of an agreement with the Consell de Formentera for regulated vehicle parking within the port area, a tool that helps organise access and use of space for both residents and visitors. Progress has also been made on the agreement with the Ministry of the Interior for the installation of an integrated surveillance system at the La Mola lighthouse, strengthening maritime safety on the island.
