King Felipe prepares himself for the 43rd Copa del Rey MAPFRE aboard the ‘Aifos’

King Felipe went out yesterday, Sunday, July 27th, to train aboard the ‘Aifos’, the iconic TP52 of the Spanish Army, in waters of Palma’s bay.

The journey began with the boarding of Don Felipe in Porto Pi’s port, from where the crew set sail to the regattas area to carry out training sessions previous to the official start of the 43rd Copa del Rey MAPFRE.

Throughout the morning, the ‘Aifos’ team could take advantage of excellent wind conditions, ideal to make sure the boat as well as the crew is ready to face the competition, which starts tomorrow, Tuesday, July 29th, and will compromise the European ORC Championship.

Therefore, throughout this week, the RCNP will be the scenery of intense regattas journeys and social encounters in which the best ORC class teams and the international elite of female sailing will compete. This 43rd edition promises strong emotions in the water and a unique ambience in land, reaffirming the leadership of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE as the great nautical date of the Mediterranean.
