The sailor from Club Marítimo de Mahón delivered a solid performance in the competition held last weekend, June 6th to 8th, in Port Adriano, Mallorca, finishing in third place and just five points off the gold. The Mahón expedition also included Oliver Riera in the men's competition, where he placed 12th overall.
Abreu didn’t have an easy start to the competition, ending the first day already in third place, although she managed to discard an eighth-place finish that she recorded on Sunday. She won a total of 13 points (5, 2, 1, 5), including a victory in the fourth race, which secured her third place overall. The gold and silver medalists were tied at 9 points. She also finished as the second-best sailor in the under-21 category.
In the men's category, Oliver Riera finished 12th overall and seventh in the under-17 category, after a difficult start that he managed to overcome. Only four races could be held, and he ended with 35 points after discarding a 31st-place finish and posting a 15th, a 4th, and a 16th.
