Ibizan Paula Pina is crowned champion of the Optimist Rigging-Med Trophy

Paula Pina and Candela Martín, from Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, imposed themselves over the 45 participants of the competition. The sailor from Club Náutico Ibiza, Ian Maurovich, was third.

This weekend the Optimist Rigging-Med Trophy, under the organization of the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, has taken place in waters of the bay of Portmany. On Saturday 27th of September, three tests were celebrated and yesterday, Sunday, September 28th, some more, all of them with medium wind. A total of 45 sailors of all the clubs of the island participated, all of them in Optimist D, U11, U13 and U16 categories.

Paula Pina, from Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, was the absolute winner of the competition and in the U16 category, followed by her peer Candela Martín. Ian Maurovich, from Club Náutico Ibiza, was absolute third. Sailors from CNSA occupied the majority of the podiums. 

In U16 the first qualified were, in this order Paula Pina (CNSA), Candela Martín (CNSA) and Jiahong Chen (CNI). In U13 Ian Maurovich (CNI) won, followed by Carlota Marí Mayans (CNSA)  and Gerard Ribas (CNI). In U11, victory went to Flavia Planells (CNSA), with Ibai de la Torre (CNSA)  in second place and Gabriela Batle (CNSA) in third. In Optimist D, the podium was integrally of the CNSA once again, with Iria Gómez first, Anita Parenti second and Marina Valdés third.
