The second leg of the 2026 Open Water Swimming World Cup, organized by World Aquatics, will take place on the island of Ibiza, in the municipality of Santa Eulària, which will host this international event for the second consecutive year.

The Ibiza stop will follow the opening event of the circuit in Soma Bay, Egypt, from March 27th to 28th, and will feature prominent Spanish swimmers such as Paula Otero, María de Valdés, Candela Sánchez, and Mateo García, all regulars at international championships and key members of the national team.
The previous edition attracted broad international participation and a high level of competition, with the women’s 10-kilometer race won by Spain’s Ángela Martínez, who was joined on the podium by Germany’s Céline Rieder and Hungary’s Bettina Fábián.
In the men’s category, victory went to Hungary’s Kristóf Rasovszky, followed by Germany’s Florian Wellbrock and France’s Marc-Antoine Olivier.
At the global level, the 2025 World Cup established itself as the discipline’s leading annual circuit, with Germany’s Florian Wellbrock and Australia’s Moesha Johnson crowned overall champions.
Open water swimming is currently experiencing one of its most visible moments, driven by its global growth, its Olympic presence, and the rise of outdoor sports, according to World Aquatics.
Ibiza is sponsoring the event as part of its commitment to international sports tourism and to hosting top-level competitions outside the summer season.
