After welcoming 47,000 visitors in Barcelona during its first stop of 2026, the Art Explora Festival continues its journey across the Mediterranean and arrives in Ibiza from 23th to 29th of April 2026. Moored at IGY Ibiza Marina, in the Port of Ibiza, coinciding with the Sant Jordi celebrations, the festival’s museum boat will open its doors to the public with immersive onboard experiences, as well as live events and workshops on the dock.

Its aim is to broaden access to art by bringing innovative artistic and cultural experiences to audiences throughout the Mediterranean and beyond.
“Coinciding with Sant Jordi, a day traditionally dedicated to books, storytelling and cultural exchange, the festival finds in Ibiza a particularly meaningful setting: an island historically shaped by maritime routes, oral tradition and cultural exchange,” the organisers said in a statement. Through sound, movement, craftsmanship and imagination, Art Explora invites people of all ages to discover how cultures circulate, meet and transform over time and across territories.
Designed by architects Axel de Beaufort and Guillaume Verdier, this 47-metre sailing catamaran can welcome up to 2,000 visitors per day on board.
On the upper deck, visitors will be able to enjoy an immersive sound journey created by IRCAM, the Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music at the Pompidou Centre in Paris. This installation offers a Mediterranean soundscape made up of natural, urban and cultural sounds collected from different points across the region, inviting visitors to listen to the sea as a shared space of stories and voices.
Inside the boat, a virtual reality experience developed together with Ubisoft transports visitors to the ancient cities of Alexandria, Athens and Venice, recreating moments of artistic and architectural splendour and offering a new perspective on Mediterranean civilisations.
Throughout the week, the dock at IGY Ibiza Marina will host live performances and events:
● Saturday, 25th of April (06:00–06:30 p.m.)
Traditional folk dance by Colla Sa Bodega, one of the island’s most representative groups.
● Wednesday, 29th of April (08:00–09:00 p.m.)
DJ set by Jana Saleh.
In addition, workshops will be organised as spaces for transmission, exchange and active participation, in line with the festival’s aim of facilitating access to art and creating connections between cultures. These include:
● Saturday, 26 April (10:30 a.m.–02:30 p.m.) – Esparto
An introduction to this traditional Ibiza plant fibre, combining history and craft practice.
● Saturday, 25th of April (04:00–06:00 p.m.) – Baile Payés
A participatory workshop on Ibiza’s traditional dance.
● Saturday, 25th and Sunday, 26th of April (12:00 a.m.–02:00 p.m.) – Ibiza Cinema Guide / Dalt Vila
Discover Ibiza through cinema with filmmaker Enrique Villalonga. This guided tour explores La Marina and Dalt Vila, with several stops to learn about films shot in these locations and watch scenes on site. A different way of exploring the island through the language of cinema.
● Sunday, 26th of April (10:30 a.m.–01:30 p.m.) – Suminagashi
An introduction to the Japanese art of floating ink.
● Sunday, 26th of April (04:00–05:30 p.m. and 06:00–07:30 p.m.) – Sound of Coco
An immersive storytelling experience inspired by Mediterranean myths.
Ibiza and Formentera to host a presentation of a book on the maritime connection between PitiusasCiutadella to host the Balearic Underwater Imaging Championship
