STAY UP TO DATE OF WHAT WE DO AND RECEIVE OUR NEWSLETTERIbiza JoySail has announced that it will return for a seventh edition, taking place from the 23rd to the 26th of September 2027.
This year’s edition brought together 19 sailing superyachts at Marina Ibiza, setting sail each day for coastal races where competition and camaraderie were the priorities.
This iconic Mediterranean event takes place against the spectacular backdrop of Ibiza and Formentera. With a wide selection of courses available, the regatta organisers can maximise time on the water in optimal conditions.
The participating fleet included both newcomers and experienced sailors. “The sixth edition of Ibiza JoySail has come and gone, and we continue to be amazed by the spectacular yachts that honour us with their presence. On behalf of the organising committee, our heartfelt thanks go to the owners of these fantastic yachts, and we hope they will continue to share the end of summer in Ibiza with us for many years to come. We would also like to thank their crews and, of course, above all, the entire ‘crew’ behind Ibiza JoySail, who continue to give their very best year after year. The results of that effort are there for all to see, making this another exceptional edition of the regatta, both on the water and ashore.” – Nacho Postigo, Ibiza JoySail Race Director.
For the Swan 115 MOAT, a yacht that has taken part in every edition of Ibiza JoySail, it is the event’s location that sets it apart: “The best thing about Ibiza is the great variety of courses, which makes the regatta great fun. We’ve also had excellent sailing conditions, with very good and consistent winds.” – Cole Parada, MOAT tactician.
The fleet was divided into several classes, and each yacht received a VilaVins wine as a welcome gift. Prizes were awarded to the winners of each class, along with additional trophies for yachts with their owners at the helm. Marina Port de Mallorca also gifted a two-night stay, while Monzó presented the winners with an antifouling package.
The Perpetual Trophy will also return in 2027, with a one-month weather window during which yachts can complete the 48-nautical-mile sprint from Punta Cala Figuera in Mallorca to the island of Tagomago in Ibiza, competing for the title of the fastest yacht to complete the course.
With the support of North Sails for sail repairs, Yacht Moving for logistics, Varadero Ibiza for unexpected repairs and Super Oh for provisioning, owners and crews were guaranteed a seamless experience.
In addition to the racing, Ibiza JoySail operates a fleet of support boats from Boating Ibiza to accommodate press and VIP guests on the water. With fuel for these boats sponsored by Repsol, guests can stay close to the action on the water each day.
An exclusive shoreside venue, set up in collaboration with Roto, provides evenings and entertainment events that bring the teams together to share the day’s conversations over food, drinks and the generous hospitality of Ibiza JoySail.
