On the 6th and 7th of August, the “Festes de la Terra”, reserved for boats of Optimist and ILCA 4 class, has been celebrated. The test, organized by Club Náutico Ibiza in collaboration with the Balearic Sailing Federation and with the sponsorship of Ibiza’s Council, which bids for the celebration of this sporting nautical activity of youth and juvenile sailing classes to celebrate the ‘fiestas’ of Ibiza one more year.

YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!The competition was formed by five tests, 2 regattas celebrated on Wednesday 6th and on Thursday 7th of August for the Optimist class. The tests were developed under winds of east component of 7 knots on Wednesday, and 8 to 10 intensity knots on Thursday. Optimum conditions for the practice of this sport, that allowed a fluid development of the tests.
The “Festes de la Terra” trophy counted with the participation of 48 sailors ascribed to the Santa Eulàlia, San Antoni and Ibiza clubs.
After the developed competition in waters of Talamanca’s beach, Ian Maurovich was finally the best one in Optimist class, achieving 5 points in the final general, the sailor of the Club Náutico Ibiza imposed himself in front of Paula Pina, from C.N.S. Antonio, who ended second with 6 points and first Under15. The third classified of the final general was Joan Riera, from C.N. Sta. Eulalia, who finished with 16 points.
Winner of the Under11 Optimist class was Pau Riera, from C.N. Sta. Eulàlia, that imposed himself in front of his rivals with much solvency.
The winner in the refinement Optimist class was Candela Andrés. Greta Recio finished in second place and the third place went to Xavier Miguel in this category.
In ILCA 4 class Gabriela Pérez, from Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, imposed herself in the fight for the leadership, adding 9 points to her box upon the 11 that totalized Romeo Pomo, from C.N. Ibiza, that finished second. Third place went to sailor from C.N. Sta. Eulalia, Juan Quirante, who finished with 14 points in the six celebrated tests for this Juvenile class.
After concluding Thursday tests, the awards ceremony was carried out, which took palace in the Bellamar Restaurant, this time. The event had the presence of Catiana Fuster, tenant of mayor of Ibiza’s Council, and representatives of the organizing entity of the nautical sporting event, led by Damián Verdera, president of Club Náutico Ibiza.
