The Mallorcan sailor Hugo Ramón crossed yesterdays afternoon, November 10th, at 06:57 p.m., the finish line of his fourth Mini Transat, the solitaire atlantic regatta for ships of 6 meters and a half. The sailor from the Real Club Náutico de Palma (RCNP), aboard the Cristalmina-Majorica, has invested 16 days, 3 hours and 57 minutes in doing 3.118 miles, aroun 8 knots, between Santa Cruz de La Palma (Canary Islands) and Guadalupe, the French Caribeean, turning into the first Spaniard in completing four editions of this oceanic challenge (2005, 2007, 2009 and 2025, awaiting the return of Miguel Rondón and his Kristina to equal the mark in the following hours. The other Spaniards in this regatta (Ramón Ribera, aboard the Sames, and Joan Trenchs, aboard the Pachamama) are expected to arrived also at the port of Saint François, between today and tommorrow.

This year's Boulàngere Mini Transat has had an inusual format. The first phase, programmed between Les Sables d’Olonne and La Palma, was suspended when the hurricaine Gabrielle obliged the fleet to deviate towards safe ports in the Portuguese coast, in a way that the final qualifying has been decided only in the cross of the Atlantic from east to south.

Hugo Ramón, 40 years old, has finished in place 18th of the series boats category, that this year has reunited 57 participants. During the first days of journey, he placed in leading positions, favored by a tachtical option towards the north. This decision, that intially allowed him sailing with advantage regarding the rest of the fleet and leading the overall of his class for over 24 hours, ended up penalizing him when the pressure of the wind dropped in that latitude and the front group advanced by the south with better conditions.

Although he lost positions, the Mallorcan sailor has kept a great rhytim along the crossing of the Atlantic and, in his first statements when arriving to land, he has seemed happy to completed the challenge for the fourth time and "satisfied" with his performance and his boat's.

Hugo Ramón's returns to the Mini Transat was made afetr a long period far away from oceanic sailing. His last great competition has been the world tour in doubles in 2012, and faced this project with the objective of remeeting with the sea and measuring himself in the course of a regatta that he considers "inseparable" from his life: "The Mini Transat offers you a total immersion with the ocean, not just due to lonely days, but because of the way in which you sail: with no connection to the Internet, with no possibility of speaking with your loved ones on land and with very little forecast information that forces you to observe and mark your route on charts on paper, like the old school sailors used to do".

French Paul Cousin, shipowner of the Biocombustibles, has been the winner in the series boats category with a spectacular registry of 14 days, 23 hours and 19 minutes. The eight first qualified in this class are also French, great leaders of solitaire oceanic sailing. The best registry of the Mini Transar 2025 has gone, however, to the Swiss Mathis Bourgnon, prototypes champion aboard the Assomast, with a time of 13 days, 17 hours and 24 minutes.
