Héctor Pérez del Álamo, Spanish Champion in Raceboard U21 Category

Windsurfer Héctor Pérez del Álamo, from Club Nàutic Sant Antoni, has won the Spanish Raceboard Championship in the Under-21 category, held in the town of Jávea (Alicante) and organized by the local yacht club.

Héctor delivered an outstanding performance throughout the championship, maintaining the lead in the overall standings from day one and winning most of the nine races held over the past four days. The event, which took place from Thursday to Sunday, July 13, became a head-to-head battle between the Ibiza-born sailor and Alejandro Selma from Club Náutico Puerto Sherry (Cádiz), who finished second, just three points behind Héctor.

Five races were completed over the first two days, while Saturday’s races were canceled due to lack of wind. On Sunday, July 13, the remaining races were sailed in light to moderate wind conditions. Héctor also placed 8th in the overall classification, and his clubmate Iker Ribas finished 12th in the U21 category. A remarkable success for Héctor, who had trained intensively for this national championship in recent months, far surpassing his goal of reaching the podium.
