Spain’s Government has approved the Maritime Strategy 2025-2050, a document promoted by the Transport and Sustainable Mobility Ministry and that has counted with the involvement of eleven ministers and with the Spanish maritime field.

YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!The objective of this strategy is to transform the vertebrating axis for the decarbonization and modernization of the maritime field, essential for the economy of our country, since 66,8% of the exportations and the 70,5% of the importations are carried out through maritime transport.
In this sense, an analysis of the situation which goes through the field of maritime transport and recreational seamanship in our country has been done, to determine the priorities of the Ministry for the future and to determine the performance options that will be necessary to carry out in the next years.
The Maritime Strategy establishes seven objectives and actions axis:
Inside the framework of the approved Strategy, normative projects, plans of help programs will be developed to promote the growth of the Spanish maritime field. This way, the Strategy propitiates the development of an action plan to favor its modernization and decarbonization, promoting guarantees of the State to finance credit operations destined to renovating the controlled fleet by Spanish shipping companies.
The main objective is to improve the environmental performance, at the same time as fulfilling the Fit for 55 objectives, marked by the European Union, and the decarbonization objectives already detailed by the Marítima Internacional Organization
In this sense, a National Action Plan is carried out for the Maritime Transport Decarbonization, which expects a series of subventions program with three objectives: adequacy of the fleet to the new environmental requirements; promotion of the green maritime insurances; and the development of a normative and operative technician.
In addition, the Strategy expects the renewal of the legal regimen of the Spanish maritime registries to accomplish a competitive fleet and flag, especially improving the potentialities of the Special Ships Registry and Canary Islands Shipping Companies.
Finally, it is established a specific regulation of the recreational seamanship field, in the security area as well as the sustainability one.
