The nautical market has started well, with a total of 33 registrations of recreational boats during the month of January, which means an increase of 10% within respect of last year , according to data collected by the "Report on the recreational boat market. January 2024", edited by ANEN from data provided by the Directorate General of Merchant Marine.

With these data on the table, the Balearic marine market increases its market share within the national market, bringing together 15.4% of registrations, compared to 11.3% recorded twelve months ago. The archipelago is the province with the greatest weight in the national marine market, followed by Barcelona, with 8.4%, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with 7%.
By autonomous communities, in the month of January this year, the Balearic Islands is in second place, second only to Andalusia, with a share of 18.8%. Catalonia closes the podium with 14%.
In the charter market, the Balearic Islands leads the market, with 27% of registrations, followed by Catalonia, with 19%, and the Canary Islands, with 17.5%.
"The month of January reflects the continuity in the decline in sales of small boats, as we predicted, with respect to the data of 2023. However, the data of registrations recorded in relation to those of the same month of 2022 are improving. Another fact to take into account is the stable behavior of the segments of medium length and over 16 meters," says Jordi Carrasco, general director of ANEN.
