Madrid-based swimmers Fernando Sánchez, Juan Gregorio Sánchez, Oliverio Almendral, and Jorge Narváez successfully completed the open-water swim crossing from Formentera to Ibiza on May 5, finishing in a time of 7 hours and 19 minutes. According to the organizers of the Ibiza Blue Challenge, this brings the total number of swimmers who have completed the challenge since its inception in 2015 to 45.

YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!Although the shortest route covers approximately 12 kilometers in a straight line, strong westerly swells forced the group to alter their course, ultimately swimming a total of 17 kilometers from Punta Gavina in Formentera to Cap d’es Falcó in Ibiza.
Despite the challenging sea conditions, both the swimmers and the support team maintained the stamina necessary to complete the crossing without any incidents or dangerous situations.
The organization emphasized that these are amateur swimmers who successfully overcame a demanding challenge, which requires intense preparation and significant physical and mental endurance.
