Es Nàutic presents the Ibiza Wingfoil at the Defi Wing, the biggest windsurf event in the world

The Defi Wind is being celebrated at the French Blue Coast, and it has reunited over 30.000 amateurs and visitors, who compete in Wingfoil, Kite Surf and Windsurf.

Club Nàutic Sant Antoni’s sports director, Enrique Mas, is at the French locality of Gruissan, at the Blue Coast, where the Defi Wing is taking place, the most multitudinous wind regatta of the world, which happens once a year with over 2.000 participants and a movement of 30.000 people. The event, which is held from May 23rd to June 1st, forms an exceptional opportunity for promoting the Ibiza Wingfoil Open, which is to take place in October since this discipline is also inside the French calendar, alongside Kite Surf and Windsurf.  

During the Defi Wind, Enrique Mas, who competes in Wingfoil, has shared with many participants the characteristics of the regatta that will take place in Portmany’s bay and has signed important specialists as ambassadors with the aim to communicate the most interesting  details and aspects of the Ibizan regatta between the athletes' community of which they are members of.

Between the chosen ambassadors there are Lorena and Sergio Perera, specialists in free rig and with Wingfoil school in Málaga and Brasil; Fran González, an optic from Salamanca who forms part of an important sailors’ net that train and compete in fogs from the plateau and Portugal, and David Rey, an engineer and data analyst from Valencia, who also belongs to the wide community of Wingfoil sailors from the Spanish east.

Ibiza Wing Foil Open’s promotion, which will also qualify for the Wingfoil Racing Spain’s Cup, does not finish here. This summer it will continue in different regattas that will take place in Tarifa (Cádiz), Lanzarote (Canary Islands) and Oliva (Valencia), with the aim to achieve a great participation at the event. This regatta already had the participation of 80 sailors last year, thanks to the intense work of direct diffusion and promotion that was made at regattas from the whole country, initiating this strategy to name ambassadors.
