Es Nàutic moves next Setmana del Mar to February after last winter’s storms

CNSA has released the calendar to coincide with teachers returning to schools. The rules for the 2027 edition will be published next Monday, 7th of September.

Club Nàutic Sant Antoni has today, Tuesday 1st of September, released the calendar for the 32nd edition of the Setmana del Mar, coinciding with teachers returning to schools. The main change is that the activity will begin in February instead of January, as was traditionally the case, with the aim of seeking greater weather stability.

It is worth recalling the difficulties experienced last winter, when numerous activities at sea had to be replaced by activities ashore as a result of storms and severe weather. Likewise, next Monday, 7th of September, CNSA will publish the rules for taking part in next year’s event, so that schools have all the information available at the beginning of the academic year and can plan the preparation of their projects for participation in the 32nd Setmana del Mar.

The calendar provides for the first school to arrive at the CNSA facilities on 1 February, rather than immediately after the Christmas holidays, with the final group finishing on 23 April, well after the end of the Easter holidays. Schools on the island wishing to take part must submit their projects by the 11th of December at the latest and, four days later, on the 15th, the jury will meet in person to select the ten projects that will progress to the final stage. The official opening ceremony of the Setmana del Mar will take place on 11 February, while the inclusive Setmana del Mar will be held from the 22nd to the 24th of March.

As in previous editions, groups that do not qualify among the ten selected for the final stage will have the opportunity to take part in a special consolation day, the ‘Dia a Formentera’, which will run from the 26th of April to the 14th of May.
