Amongst the over 300 participants coming from 28 countries, Mallorcan Enric Patiño, from Club Nàutic s’Arenal, shone as the best national representative, finishing sixth in the U17 male category.
The last session was conditioned by the unstable wind, which only allowed the final series of the male and female U19 fleets to take place. In them Italian Mattia Saoncella and Medea Falcioni were crowned as Europe’s champions.
Regarding the Spanish representation, these are the ones who ended in the top 10: the member of the 2032 team of the RFEV, Sandro Portune (CN Salou), who closed his European participation in the 14th position of the male U19 overall, while Martina Mantovani (RCN Valencia) was 19th in the female U19, showing a solid progression throughout the week.
In the U17 categories, in addition to Patiño, Gonzalo Ruiz and Enrique Parres (both from the CN Santa Pola) qualified in the 14th and 15th places, respectively, in a great international level fleet.
The championship reunited the new European young sailors generation in the iQFOiL olympic discipline, consolidating itself as a key date in the international calendar.
With a very positive balance and promising results, the Spanish team closes its participation looking already towards 2026 and to the next great international dates of the class.
