Mallorca’s Council, through the Insular Directorate of Sports, is launching this summer the program “Summer Activities for Youth 2025”, which offers teenagers and young people aged 14 and older up to 9 sports experiences. These half-day activities must be requested in groups through municipalities and combine marine sports, natural scenery, and adventure, led by certified and specialized instructors to ensure a fun and safe experience.
The “Summer Activities for Youth 2025” program includes 9 featured experiences: scuba diving try-outs, water bikes, dragon boating, coasteering—coastal walks along rugged paths—, canoeing, paddle surfing and big paddle surfing, hiking, and snorkeling. The program is twofold: it offers activities to local councils to promote sports among the population and also encourages young people themselves to request them in their municipalities, as a kind of group hangout.
The second vice president and councillor for Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports of the Consell de Mallorca, Pedro Bestard, and the Insular Sports Director, Toni Prats, presented the initiative at the Sant Ferran sports center. Bestard highlighted that “the Consell will invest €180,000 in the program aimed at young people and teenagers, a very important group that doesn’t have many options available, but does have a strong desire to do sports with friends.” “These are the same young people who ask us for these activities in the surveys we conduct.”
The program is expected to reach more than 3,000 young people throughout the summer of 2025.
