The events will bring together sailors from nautical clubs across the Balearic Islands.
The regatta is organised by Club Náutico Ibiza in collaboration with Marina Ibiza and the Balearic Sailing Federation, with institutional support from the Government of the Balearic Islands, the Ibiza Island Council, and Ibiza Town Council, as well as sponsorship from the Julián Vilás Foundation.
The programme will begin on Wednesday, 26th of February, with equipment inspections, measurements, and competitor registration, an essential preliminary stage before the start of racing.
On Thursday, 27th of February, the Balearic Team Championship – Marina Ibiza Trophy will take place. This highly tactical format sees clubs competing as teams, where collective strategy will play a decisive role in the final outcome.
From 28th of February to 2nd of March, attention will shift to the Balearic Individual Championship – XII Fundación Julián Vilás Regatta, which will determine the new regional champions after three days of racing on the course set off Playa d’en Bossa.
The competition will feature strong participation from clubs across the archipelago and a high sporting level. Among the main favourites are Jan Palou and María de Lluc Bestard from Real Club Náutico de Palma; Dani Capa from C.N. s’Estanyol; C.N. Arenal sailors Stijn Oosterhaven and Luca Nueschen; and Jorge Benítez from R.C.N. Puerto Pollença. All boast notable records in national and international competitions.
Representing the host club, Club Náutico Ibiza, will be Lamis Casco, Ian Maurovich, Lluc Torres, Eric Torres, Nikola Donati, Valentina Pomo, Sofía Donati and Gerard Ribas, who will aim to deliver strong performances by leveraging their knowledge of the Ibiza racecourse.
The race area will be set off the coastline of Playa d’en Bossa, where several races are scheduled each day, weather and wind conditions permitting.
Beyond its sporting significance, the event will also provide an important boost for youth sailing and nautical sports on the island, bringing together athletes, coaches, and accompanying teams over several days, while contributing to local economic activity outside the peak tourist season.
The organisers invite sailing fans and the general public to follow the regattas from various points along the coast and show their support for the participants.
