On September 20th, the Madrid Naval Week 2025 will kick off under the motto “Navy 2050. The Future Is Already Here,” featuring a wide-ranging program of cultural, educational, sports, and academic events. The goal of this annual gathering is to bring citizens closer to the work of the institution and to demonstrate how it is preparing for future challenges through its Navy 2050 strategy, which sets the lines of technological modernization, sustainability, and innovation until the middle of the century.

On September 20 and 21, Retiro Park will host demonstrations by the Marine Infantry Group, as well as a hydrographic exhibition in the park’s pond, with free workshops and activities for children.

The program also includes the following activities:

  • For the whole family, the Naval Museum will offer guided tours at various times, adapted for all audiences (September 20th, 21st, and 27th).
  • The Naval Race, which will take place on September 28 starting from Plaza de Cibeles.
  • An open-air music concert in the Gardens of the Royal Palace (September 26th).
  • Specialized seminars, such as Astronomical Navigation (September 22nd-26th), Strategy (September 24th), and a technology seminar on the “Essential Elements of the Autonomous Ship Project” (September 24th).
  • An “Armada Awards” Gala, to be held on September 25 at the Navy’s sports facilities in Madrid.
  • A Flag Oath ceremony for civilians, scheduled for September 27th at the multi-purpose esplanade of Madrid Río.

Naval Week 2025 will therefore provide citizens with the opportunity to learn about both the current work of the Navy and its vision for the future, outlined in the Navy 2050 program, through which the institution is working on fleet modernization, the development of unmanned systems, integration into multi-domain scenarios, and strengthening the national technology industry, in order to ensure maritime security and the defense of Spain in the coming decades.

The Navy will provide updated information on schedules and locations through its social media channels and official website: Semana Naval de Madrid 2025.
