Costa d’en Blanes hosts a large turnout for the Balearic Sea Kayak Championship

More than 150 boats participated in this competition held at Costa d'en Blanes.

The beach of Costa d’en Blanes was the vibrant stage this Saturday, May 3, for the Balearic Sea Kayak Championship, an event that brought together over 150 boats from Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza, with participants ranging from children’s categories to veteran levels.

The event, jointly organized by Club de Mar-Mallorca and the Balearic Canoeing Federation, delivered a day full of excitement and competition in an unbeatable setting.

As the host of the event, Club de Mar-Mallorca achieved an outstanding result, winning the club title in the Masters category of the Balearic Sea Kayak Championship, earning 237 points and securing the top spot on the podium.

Individually, the club earned medals across multiple categories, including golds by Elena Reolid in Senior SS1 8000 and Miguel Martorell Vallespir in Senior OC1 8000, among others.

In the overall club ranking of the Championship, the title went to the Real Club Náutico de Palma, which was crowned overall club champion of the Balearic Sea Kayak Championship.

The day began early with the arrival of the paddlers at the beach in Costa d’en Blanes. From there, the children's categories raced a round-trip course to Palmanova, while the other categories completed a more demanding course starting from Costa d’en Blanes, passing through Palmanova, circling the island of Sa Porrassa, and returning to the starting point.

Nicolás Ruiz, coach of the Balearic Canoeing Federation, highlighted the high technical level and strong participation, and also expressed thanks to the Costa d’en Blanes Canoeing Club for providing the venue.
