CN Arenal warms up and opens registration for the 62nd Gran Día de la Vela – Bufete Frau

The regatta will take place from August 21st to the 30th and will once again bring together hundreds of sailors across 12 classes in the Bay of Palma.

The Club Nàutic S’Arenal has already begun organizing a new edition of the Gran Día de la Vela – Bufete Frau, one of the major events in Balearic dinghy sailing and one of the club’s most emblematic sporting fixtures.

Last Monday, June 15th, registration officially opened for the regatta, which will be held from August 21st to the 30th in the waters of the Bay of Palma. Since then, numerous sailors from clubs both in the Balearic Islands and beyond the archipelago have begun pre-registering to take part in an edition that will once again bring together a wide representation of youth and competitive sailing.

The Notice of Race is already available in the official event website’s TOA, www.grandiadelavela.com, where participants can consult information about the event, the classes included, the schedule, and the registration procedure.

This edition will feature sailors from the Optimist, Optimist D (beginner), Techno 293, iQFOiL, ILCA 6, ILCA 4, and 420 classes, as well as the Optimist Team Racing by clubs. In addition, one of the days will once again be reserved, as is tradition, for cruiser and traditional “vela latina” classes, reinforcing the broad scope of a regatta that brings together different generations and sailing disciplines.

The Gran Día de la Vela – Bufete Frau has established itself as one of the reference regattas for young sailors, not only because of its high participation numbers, but also due to the sporting, fun, and social atmosphere that it generates throughout the competition days. The event will once again turn the Club Nàutic S’Arenal into a meeting point for sailors, coaches, families, and clubs, reinforcing its role as one of the key promoters of dinghy sailing in the Balearics.

Over the coming months, Club Nàutic S’Arenal will continue working on the organization of an event that requires a significant technical, sporting, and human effort, both on land and on the water. The regatta will once again feature different race courses, divided into competition areas, and a large organizational team to ensure the proper running of an event that, year after year, continues to grow while maintaining its spirit intact.

This year’s edition will once again be supported by Bufete Frau, the main sponsor of an event that combines competition, training, community, and passion for the sea. Their involvement helps continue strengthening an event that is part of the sporting identity of Club Nàutic S’Arenal and remains a key experience for new generations of sailors.
