The 2026 Iberdrola League brings together around fifty women in Mallorca this weekend for a third stage that is more exciting than ever. Co-organized by the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation and Club Nàutic s’Arenal, the Mallorca event will decide the team that will represent Spain in the European final of the Sailing Champions League. The Natulim Sailing Team, representing the Club Náutico Sevilla and skippered by Carlota Massana, leads the standings after the first two events held in Getxo and Calpe.

A total of eleven teams from seven autonomous communities (Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Catalonia, Valencian Community, Galicia, and the Basque Country) are taking part in this event hosted by Club Nàutic s’Arenal. The races will be held this weekend, May 16 and 17, aboard Bavaria B-One one-design boats, crewed by five women. The famous Embat wind in Palma Bay promises intense and highly competitive racing to determine who leads at the midpoint of the national circuit.

After the first two events of the season, the Natulim Sailing Team, making its debut this year, is positioning itself as a strong contender for the Spanish spot in the continental final, which will take place from August 7th to 9th in Kiel (Germany). The crew from CN Sevilla, led by Carlota Massana, holds a four-point lead in the overall standings over their closest challengers, Sailing Point from CN Altea, skippered by Gracia Suárez. In third and fourth place, and just one point behind the Altea team, are RCN Gran Canaria and CN El Balís, with Inés Martín-Urda and María Blanco at the helm, respectively.

Of the eleven registered crews, only one has not participated in either of the previous two events. That is the host team. Club Nàutic s’Arenal has always been a classic participant in the Iberdrola League and a regular contender for top positions. On this occasion, the local crew will be led by young sailor Amalia Coll, a 420 class racer and last year’s Under-17 World and European champion.

“We are happy and grateful for the opportunity to form the crew that will represent CNA at home,” commented Amalia Coll. “There are many girls in the racing team and a very high level, which makes us eager to give our best to compete at the highest level against the rest of the Spanish crews, who will surely not give us any respite. We hope to enjoy a great women’s atmosphere this weekend.”

The president of Club Nàutic s’Arenal, José Ramón Picó, stated that “it is a privilege to host such an important event for women’s sailing and to share a weekend of sport, camaraderie, and passion for sailing with all the participating women.”

With this third stop, the Iberdrola League reaffirms its role as the main driving force of women’s sailing in Spain. What began as a development project has become a consolidated platform that helps develop female talent in the sport through an agile and entertaining competition format.

Activities will begin on Friday afternoon with the opening of the race office, participant registration, and official training sessions. Competition will take place on Saturday and Sunday, with a round-robin qualifying series featuring very short windward-leeward races, which will determine the six teams that will compete in the Medal Races. These final races will take place on Sunday at midday and will decide the podium of this third event of the national women’s sailing circuit.

The 2026 Iberdrola League is organized by the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation, Real Club Marítimo del Abra–Real Sporting, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Club Nàutic s’Arenal, Royal Galician Sailing Federation, and Club Náutico Altea, and is supported by the regional federations hosting the regattas.
