The Club Marítimo de Mahón claimed the Balearic Canoe Sprint Championship for Young Promises this weekend, in a competition held at the Balearic Canoeing Federation's facilities in s’Estany des Ponts, Alcúdia.

Events included individual (K1), double (K2), and—new this year—four-person (K4) races for the older categories.
The Mahón-based team didn't concede a single point, earning an unforgettable Balearic title. With 1,759 points, Club Marítimo de Mahón secured a clear victory over Real Club Náutico de Palma (1,363 points) and Club de Vela Port d’Andratx (939 points). The club’s paddlers dominated both the promotion categories (infantile and cadet) and the development levels (benjamín and alevín), also topping the medal table with 11 golds, 12 silvers, and 7 bronzes.
In the cadet category, standout performances came from Marcos Pons and Bruno Pons, who won gold and bronze respectively on Saturday. The duo added a silver in K2 and a bronze in K4 alongside Martí Tutzó and Sergio Dacosta. On the girls’ side, Irati Vidal took silver and Claudia Cook earned bronze in K1. Together with Amaia Vidal and Claudia Vidal, they added gold in K2 and silver in K4.
In the infantile category, Pol Tàrrega and Aingeru Salaverria earned silver and bronze in K1, another silver in K2, and an exciting K4 race with Bautista Suñé, led by Lau Soto, which became one of the most celebrated moments for the team. On the girls’ side, Hannah Cook dominated her distance, winning gold, while Sienna Hall claimed bronze. Together they won silver in K2 and again in K4 alongside Adriana Pallicer and Aina Teresa Pallas.
On Sunday, it was time for the alevín and benjamín paddlers, who inspired hope for the club's future. In the pre-benjamín category, Daniel Cortés maintained his undefeated streak. In benjamín, Gabi Mora took gold and Ibai Santos won silver; together they sealed their performance with a K2 gold.
To cap off the event, the alevines delivered an excellent performance. Pablo Cayarga and Leo Pons took gold and silver in K1 and teamed up for another gold in K2, followed on the podium by Erik Pomar – Aritz de Novo and Jon Rosselló – Jaime Montañés, earning a triple podium finish in the race. In Alevín B, Jaime Montañés maintained his undefeated run at the regional level, ending a remarkable year. In the girls’ category, Adriana González and Carla Llorca claimed silver and bronze in K1 and added K2 gold, ahead of teammates Asia Rosselló and Alaina Puertas, who took silver.
With this achievement, the Club Marítimo de Mahón’s Young Promises Canoeing Section, led by Isaac Cordero and Dion López, secures the Balearic League title for the first time in its history—the perfect closing chapter to an outstanding season for the club’s youth division.
