The Club de Vela Port d’Andratx made history in adaptive sailing by winning the gold medal at the inaugural RS Venture Connect European Championship, held from August 20 to 24 at the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club in Oslo.

YOU HAVE ALL OF OUR FULL PROGRAMS HERE!The Spanish team, consisting of Pau Toni Homar and Ramón Gutiérrez, and coached by Juanjo Beltrán with technical support from Ana Musatova, sailed masterfully through the Norwegian fjords to claim the overall European Championship in a competition that brought together the continent’s top crews across the Para, Inclusive, and Open categories.
The crew of Jordi Cargol and Violeta del Reino also delivered a strong performance, finishing in a respectable seventh place.
Organized by the Royal Norwegian Yacht Club (KNS) and the Norwegian Sailing Federation, the event showcased not only the technical and competitive level of the fleet but also served as a platform for accessibility, inclusion, and innovation in sailing.
The success of the championship and Spain’s participation reflects the joint effort of the international adaptive sailing community and World Sailing, which seeks to strengthen its bid to reintroduce sailing to the Brisbane 2032 Paralympic Games.
With this victory, Club de Vela Port d’Andratx celebrates not only a sporting milestone but also reaffirms the key role of adaptive sailing in the future of European nautical sport.
