The event expects gathering around fifty vessels with crews arriving from different countries from all over the continent.
The World Sailing and the Internacional Flying Fifteen Class Association have confirmed the Mallorcan candidacy to host the European Championship next year in this category.
The commodore of the Club de Mar Mallorca, Manuel Nadal de Uhler, has pointed out the satisfaction of the entity by hosting this race, remarking that it is the first time that the club organizes a European Championship. “Wer're reinforcing our activity in the sailing section and this international competition eill be a great boost”, he has affirmed.
The European Champs of the International Flying Fifteen category takes place every two year and Mallorca will take the helm of the French locality of Morgat, where brits Ian Pinnell and Ian Cadwallader were crowned champions.
The International Flying Fifteen is a two-people boat, designed by Uffa Fox and built in 1949, which became popular for being a fun and competitive boat. In its 76 years of history, this classic has been capable of keeping its currency through updates in its molds and the incorporation of modern as carbon.
