Clear skies and pleasant temperatures will mark the weekend in the Balearic Islands

The first thing everyone checks before the weekend arrives is what the weather will be like.

That’s why at Passion for the Sea, in collaboration with Àngel Muñoz, creator of Meteo de les Illes, we offer a weekly forecast every Friday so you can plan your activities in advance and enjoy the sea with all the necessary information.

This Friday, May 22nd, will be marked by atmospheric stability across the archipelago, with mostly partly cloudy or completely clear skies for much of the day. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, although in some areas they could rise slightly, creating a truly spring-like and very pleasant atmosphere for outdoor activities.

Winds will be light, predominantly from the east, accompanied by the usual coastal breezes that will help further soften the perceived temperature, especially in coastal areas.

The start of the weekend will therefore bring very calm and stable weather conditions, ideal for outdoor activities, excursions, or enjoying the beaches and the sea. Sea conditions will also be especially calm, with waves unlikely to exceed half a meter in the most exposed areas to southwesterly winds.

In more sheltered areas, especially in parts of the Sierra de Tramuntana, the sea state will be even calmer, with near-flat conditions for much of the weekend.

However, caution is advised during the early morning hours due to the possible formation of sea fog. These fog banks could temporarily reduce visibility, particularly affecting navigation and coastal traffic. As the day progresses and the central hours arrive, conditions will gradually stabilize further, with much better visibility returning.

For this reason, Passion for the Sea recommends exercising caution when carrying out outdoor activities and always checking the weather forecast before going sailing.
