More than 110 people attended the traditional annual dinner last weekend, turning the club’s restaurant into a hub of camaraderie, recognition, and celebration after a full season of sporting activity.

Named “The Great Night of Fishing”, the gathering brought together anglers, families, collaborators, and sponsors in a relaxed and festive atmosphere. Fishing delegate Toni Moreno described the evening very positively: “It was a complete success, it couldn’t have gone better.”

The event also welcomed institutional representatives, including the mayor of Llucmajor, Francisca Lascolas, and the councillor for sports, Rafael Amengual, who joined the section on such a significant night in the municipality’s sporting and social calendar.

The awards ceremony was led by fishing delegate Toni Moreno, alongside club secretary and former fishing delegate Antonio Cayuela, together with sponsors of the various competitions held throughout the season.

Winners received fishing gear, gift vouchers, and numerous prizes thanks to the support of companies and institutions such as Fiat Llucmajor, Bazar Las Palmeras, Torrenova Rent a Car, Can Calicó, the Llucmajor Town Hall, Restaurant Las Sirenas, Maro Plast, Mecanautica Asensio, Eurobalear de Transportes, and Proa Group.

“There was an incredible number of gifts and prizes, the restaurant was packed and everyone left happy, both because of the awards and the menu,” Moreno added.

In total, club anglers took part in 12 of the 13 competitions scheduled for 2025. The only event cancelled was the November serranid fishing outing, due to adverse weather conditions. Highlights included the buoyed squid competition (the season opener dedicated to the memory of Pep Pomares), the veterans’ competition, pairs categories, and the raor fishing contest, among others.

Despite a weather-affected start to the year, the section has already launched the 2026 season. In fact, this Friday will see the official Buoyed Squid Competition held in memory of Pep Pomares, continuing the sporting calendar.

Once again, the fishing dinner has cemented its place as one of the major social and sporting gatherings of Club Nàutic S’Arenal, reflecting the participation, tradition, and passion for fishing that continues to grow year after year within the club.
