In this regard, it is expected that within approximately 15 days the sunbed and parasol services, the beach bars, except for one, and the lifeguard station will be operational, thus restoring normal service provision at this strategic tourist location.
As for Magaluf beach, the process will take a little longer, as the negotiated tender procedure was declared void after receiving no bids. The local council invited more than a dozen companies with experience in beach service management to take part, but all of them declined the invitation.
With the aim of speeding up the award of the service contract for this beach, the Town Hall has decided to introduce changes to make the contract more attractive. Specifically, the number of designated sunbed and parasol areas will be reduced from five to four, which will also increase the space available for beachgoers in the area closest to the sea.
This measure will help maintain the quality of the temporary facilities while also making it easier to reduce costs for potential concessionaires, thereby encouraging participation in the new procedure.
The same companies invited to the previous call, including current or former providers of beach services in the municipality, will be invited to take part in this new tender.
The council stresses that these measures reflect its commitment to guaranteeing high-quality services on all the municipality’s beaches, adapting management models to market realities and always prioritizing the general interest.
