Both Saturday’s Symphony concert and Sunday’s screenings from the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest were very well received, not only by residents and tourists, but also by thousands of people who came to the municipality from all parts of the island.
On Saturday, June 27th, according to Local Police data, nearly 9,500 people gathered on the beach and along the Gabriel Escarrer Juliá seafront promenade to enjoy the memorable performance by the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra, which performed film music alongside a 400-drone show that amazed attendees. According to sources from the Orchestra itself, this was the largest audience ever recorded for the Symphony, which was performing for the first time in its history on a stage set up on the sand of a beach, Magaluf’s, in this case.
Among those attending, in addition to numerous authorities, led by the President of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohens, and representatives of civil society, were Mallorcans from places as diverse as Fornalutx, Selva, Manacor, and Palma, among others. “Give Magaluf a chance,” urged the mayor, Juan Antonio Amengual, from the stage, addressing those many islanders who, for the first time in a long time, and thanks to this Town Council initiative funded with ITS funds, came to Magaluf to discover the area’s new reality.
The success of the evening, reflected on social media, extended to the associated activities, in a unique event that will remain forever in Magaluf’s collective memory.
The weekend concluded on Sunday with the premiere in Calvià of the Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest, which brought together film enthusiasts to enjoy an evening that included several screenings and two DJ performances.
The Town Council thanks everyone for the massive turnout this weekend, which once again highlights the current government team’s commitment to turning Magaluf and Calvià into a leading cultural destination, not only for visitors, but also for Mallorcans themselves.
