From the 26th to the 28th of June, Vigo will host the 3rd Spanish Sea Kayak Cup, bringing together more than 500 paddlers from 56 clubs across Spain. The championship will also serve as the national selection event for the 2026 Ocean Racing European Championships, to be held in Brest, France, from 26 to 30 August.

Following an opening day reserved for official training sessions, the competition will begin on Saturday, 27th of June, at 10:30 am. Racing on the water will start at 1:30 pm with a 15-kilometre race in individual SS1 boats for youth, senior and veteran categories, in both men’s and women’s events.
The programme will continue on Sunday, 2th of June, from 9:30 am, with a 6-kilometre race scheduled for 12:00 noon, featuring paddlers in the Under-23, senior and veteran categories.
Paddlers from 56 clubs in Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, the Basque Country, Navarre, Castile and León, Catalonia, Valencia, Murcia, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands, as well as from the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, will compete for the Spanish Sea Kayak Cup and the Concello de Vigo Trophy.
More than 40 paddlers from the Balearic Islands will take part in the competition, representing the following clubs: Club Nàutic Ciutadella, Club de Mar-Mallorca, Club de Vela Puerto de Andratx, Real Club Náutico de Palma and Club Nàutic Portitxol.
As for the technical team, the championship will feature Eddie Freire, one of Spain’s leading judges, as the race judge, and Miguel Grueiro as competition director and race official.
