The public body Ports de les Illes Balears (PortsIB) has been awarded a total of five Blue Flags in 2026 for its directly managed ports, with the recovery of this recognition in the ports of Porto Colom and Sóller standing out in particular. They are joined by the Port of Colònia de Sant Jordi, the Port of Cala Figuera and the Port of Ciutadella, which have also received the award.

Overall, the Balearic Islands have a total of 14 Blue Flags for port facilities this year, maintaining the same figure as in 2025. Of these, five correspond to ports directly managed by PortsIB, out of a total of 14 directly managed ports distributed across Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza.

Other port facilities in the islands have also been recognised. In Ibiza, the Club Nàutic Sant Antoni and Marina Ibiza have received Blue Flags. In Mallorca, the distinction has been awarded to Alcudiamar Puerto Turístico Deportivo, Club Nàutic Cala Gamba, Club Nàutic Porto Cristo, Club Nàutic S’Arenal, Marina Port Andratx, Marina Port de Mallorca and the Real Club Náutico de Palma.

The Blue Flag, awarded by the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (Adeac), recognises compliance with demanding criteria in water quality, environmental management, safety, services, and environmental information and education.

At national level, Spain once again leads the world ranking of Blue Flags in 2026, reaching a record 677 awarded beaches, 35 more than the previous year. In addition, 111 distinctions have been awarded to marinas and six to tourist boats. In this context, the Balearic Islands maintain their 14 Blue Flag ports, consolidating their position within Spain as a whole.
