Balearic Islands leave the haze behind and head into a more stable weekend

The first thing we all check before the weekend arrives is what the weather is going to be like.

That is why, at Passion for the Sea, in collaboration with Àngel Muñoz, creator of Meteo de les Illes, we bring you the weather forecast every Friday so that you can plan ahead and enjoy the sea with all the information you need.

Friday, 28th of August, will be marked by cloudy to overcast skies and generally light rainfall, which may occasionally be accompanied by mud rain due to the presence of Saharan dust, as well as the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm. Temperatures will fall, while winds will be light to moderate from the southwest, shifting to west and northwest during the morning and becoming light and variable in the afternoon.

Looking ahead to the weekend, weather conditions are expected to become more stable at all levels. Sea conditions should also improve progressively, gradually leaving behind the south-westerly storm that has kept the waters rough over recent days.

On both Saturday and Sunday, waves are generally expected to remain below half a metre across almost all of the islands, bringing much calmer sea conditions.

Atmospherically, the intense Saharan dust haze that has affected the archipelago in recent days will also gradually clear. Skies will become brighter, although some cloudy intervals may still develop.

Temperatures will fall slightly over the weekend. Even so, they will remain high for late August, meaning conditions will continue to feel warm despite the slight drop.
