Astilleros de Mallorca has presented in their Gálibos terrace the signature of a strategic alliance with VMG Astilleros de Sagunto to manage yachts reconditioning and repair projects in their facilities.

According to Astilleros de Mallorca, this collaboration was born with the aim of generating synergies between both entities, combining forefront facilities with the wide expertise of Astilleros de Mallorca in the refit and boat repair sector. “Thanks to the alliance with VMG Refit & Repair, the company reinforces its capacity to manage maintenance and reconditioning projects of large yachts and boats, elevating the service level” they have ensured.
In this sense, Astilleros de Mallorca confirms that VMG Astilleros de Sagunto has successfully completed the first grounding of a yacht in their facilities through a lift, within the benchmark of a project booked and managed by the company. “This milestone marks the start of a collaboration that is expected to be long and beneficial, and that it represents the first of many altogether projects” they have declared.
The incorporation of this new capacities complement the current infrastructure of Astilleros de Mallorca, which includes their main shipyard and the facilities of STP in Palma, with a grounding capacity of 1.600 tons and moorings for yachts of up to 120 metres, as well as their offices and workshops in the peninsula, in Marina Port Tarraco and in IGY Málaga Marina.
The accord contemplates the exploitation of an elevation and grounding system through shiplift for boats of up to 5.000 tons and 115 metres of length. “This improvement will position the Port of Sagunto as one of the facilities with a major grounding capacity through shiplift in the area” they have pointed out.
Thanks to this union, small and medium companies from Mallorca and Valencia will be benefitted in terms of the work and business volume generated by this project.
In addition, Sagunto will allow Astilleros de Mallorca to amplify its operational reach, facilitating the grounding of yachts of more than 75 metres of length, which, until now, could only be attended by fleet in Palma. This new capacity offers clients a major flexibility to carry out their projects in one or both locations, in function of their needs and preferences.
